How to apply Outgoing - Incoming

  1. Select a layer. If nothing happens on footage, try a text layer or a solid: legacy presets are made for different layer types.
  2. Open Window › Effects & Presets, paste the name in the search box and double-click Outgoing - Incoming.
  3. Press UU on the layer to see what the preset changed.

Many legacy presets were built for standard-definition frames (NTSC or PAL). In a larger composition you may need to scale the masks or change the effect settings.

Where is Outgoing - Incoming in After Effects?

Open Window › Effects & Presets and go to Animation Presets › Legacy. It is quicker to type the name in the search box at the top of the panel.
